Participant Feedback

Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2021/22

PRES Results Poster

Participants taking part in the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio adopted research were given the opportunity to complete a PRES form to share their experience of taking part in research.

Asking our participants to complete this form helps us to understand their views so that we can improve our delivery of research in the future, and ensure a positive research experience for participants.

Feedback also helps us to understand what we are doing well so that we can celebrate and share these successes with our staff.

Highlights of the feedback received in the 2021/22 PRES have been summarised and can be found on this page.

Website Review - Feedback Received

Earlier this year, we asked the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust (STH) Virtual PPIE Panel and staff within the NIHR Sheffield CRF to review our website and provide feedback on what works well, what could be improved, and whether there was anything that could be added to enhance the user experience.

We collated the suggestions and have already started making changes to address points that were made by the reviewers. Over the coming months we will be making further improvements, and our plans are shown below.

If you have any comments or suggestions of your own to make about our website, please let us know by using our feedback form.

Case Study: Survey of COVID-19 vaccine research participants shapes future vaccine studies

Your feedback is important to us

Every year, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) asks thousands of people who took part in research to feedback on their experience so improvements can be made. You can read how we in the CRF acted on feedback from COVID-19 vaccine participants to inform future trials as part of a case study on the NIHR Website.

Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2019/20

In order to understand the experience that participants have in our department we take part in the Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) initiative which has been developed by the National Institute for Health and Care Research Clinical Research Network (CRN) Coordinating Centre.

Why do we deliver PRES?

Each year, we ask participants to complete the PRES to understand their experiences of research so that we can improve our delivery of research in the future and ensure a positive research experience for participants.

Feedback also helps us to understand what we are doing well, and we can celebrate and share these successes with research staff.

PRES is also one of the means by which the impact of the Clinical Research Network is evaluated, and it is vital that as a Partner Organisation we contribute to this initiative.
