2024/25 participant feedback
The NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF) took part in the Friends and Family Initiative over the course of a week in January 2025
Feedback from our research participants on their experience of using our service is important to us, and we aim to make improvements based on the comments made on these feedback forms.
We received 23 responses from participants at our Royal Hallamshire Hospital unit and 18 responses from participants at our Northern General Hospital unit. The comments received were extremely positive, with some fantastic feedback recognising the great work of everyone in our teams as well as the bright and welcoming facility we have.

Quarter 3 2024/25 PRES results for NIHR Sheffield CRF
The posters below show some highlights from recent feedback received from our research participants through the Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES).
In the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) we review all feedback received on the PRES surveys every three months so that we can circulate updates to our teams and act upon any feedback where necessary to make improvements so that our participants can have the best possible experience in the CRF.

NHS Friends & Family Initiative - 2024 summary
In the NIHR Sheffield CRF we ran the trust wide Friends and Family Initiative four times this year and in total received 92 completed forms at our facility at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) site and 85 at the Northern General Hospital (NGH) site. This is fantastic!
We would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this possible, especially all our patients/participants who took the time to complete these forms.
The feedback received has been so positive and there is no doubt that our patients/participants' experience in the CRF is a pleasant one.

The Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) is an annual nationally standardised survey used to collect adults and children's views and experiences of participating in NIHR supported research.
Through PRES, the NIHR aims to put participant experience at the heart of research delivery - helping to improve the way research studies are designed and delivered, now and in the future.

Every year, we ask research participants who are attending their final study visit at NIHR Sheffield CRF to share their experiences of taking part in research.

This year, we have begun to review PRES responses on a quarterly basis so that we can circulate updates to our teams more frequently and act upon any feedback where necessary to make improvements so that our participants can have the best experience possible in the CRF.
