Quarter 3 2025/26 PRES results for NIHR Sheffield CRF
We are pleased to share the results of the quarter 3 (Q3) 2025/26 Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES), which once again reflect a highly positive experience for those taking part in our research studies. The latest feedback shows that participants continue to feel well‑supported, well‑informed, and confident in the way research is delivered across our facilities.
The findings demonstrate our ongoing commitment to ensuring that everyone who takes part in research at NIHR Sheffield CRF is treated with care, respect, and transparency. They also highlight the efforts of our research teams to maintain an inclusive, welcoming environment where participants feel their contribution truly matters.
The Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) is a nationally standardised survey that gathers the views and experiences of adults and children involved in NIHR‑supported research. The insights provided help us to continually improve the experience for all current and future participants.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who takes the time to complete this important survey. Your feedback is invaluable and plays a vital role in shaping the future of research at NIHR Sheffield CRF.

As part of the STH Friends and Family Initiative, we gathered feedback over the course of one week at the beginning of January 2026.
Hearing from our research participants about their experience in our department is incredibly valuable. Their feedback helps us understand what we are doing well and highlights areas where we can continue to improve.
We received 22 responses from participants at our facility at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and 14 responses from our facility at the Northern General Hospital. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many comments recognising the excellent work carried out by our teams and the bright, welcoming environment we strive to provide.
Below is a selection of the comments we received. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts—and well done to the entire team for their continued hard work and commitment.

In the NIHR Sheffield CRF we ran the trust wide Friends and Family Initiative four times this year and in total received 97 completed forms at our facility at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) site and 55 at the Northern General Hospital (NGH) site. This is fantastic!
We would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this possible, especially all our patients/participants who took the time to complete these forms.
The feedback received has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s clear that patients and participants find their experience in the CRF to be a pleasant one.

We are delighted to share the results of the quarter 2 (Q2) 2025/26 Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES), which show a highly positive response from research participants across our studies. The findings highlight continued satisfaction with the research experience and strong confidence in the way studies are conducted.
These outcomes underscore the ongoing efforts of our research teams to maintain a positive participant experience and promote transparency and inclusivity across all studies.

Hearing from our research participants about their experience in our department is incredibly valuable. Their comments help us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve.
We received 35 responses from participants at our Royal Hallamshire Hospital unit and 13 from our Northern General Hospital unit. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many comments highlighting the excellent work of our teams and the bright, welcoming environment we provide.

Quarter 1 2025/26 PRES results for NIHR Sheffield CRF
The Participant in Research Experience Survey (PRES) is an annual nationally standardised survey used to collect adults and children's views and experiences of participating in NIHR supported research.
Through PRES, the NIHR aims to put participant experience at the heart of research delivery - helping to improve the way research studies are designed and delivered, now and in the future.
In the NIHR Sheffield CRF we review the feedback received on the PRES surveys from people participating in our research studies every three months. Regular reviews mean that we can circulate updates to our teams and act upon any feedback where necessary to make improvements so that our participants can have the best experience possible in the CRF.
